3M™ Tora™ CCS Safety Glasses, Anti-Scratch / Anti-Fog, Clear Lens, 71511-00000

3M Rugged Anti Scratch (RAS) safety glasses have a super hard eyewear coating that provides excellent protection against scratches in the toughest of environments. With at least five times more scratch resistance than 3M generic hard coats, you will see a clear difference when it comes to durability and longer lens life.

RAS coated lenses are designed for a wide range of applications, including chiselling, drilling, milling, machining, riveting, sanding and sawing. The lenses have achieved the K marking to indicate resistance to surface damage by fine particles. The 3M™ Maxim™ RAS Safety Spectacles have aspherical lens for 180º of pure vision. These glasses also have superior eye coverage and a soft, universal-fit nose bridge with cushion brow guard for extra comfort and shock absorption. Safety glasses are essential eyewear protective equipment for keeping safe in certain hazardous environments.

FAQ’s,

What are the potential eye hazards at work?

There are a number of potential eyes hazards that require eye protection, these include:

Radiation (Visible light, heat or infrared radiation or lasers).

Projectiles (Dust, concrete, metal, wood and plastic).

Chemicals (Splashes and fumes)

Blood borne pathogens from blood or body fluids

Can prescription glasses be used as Safety Glasses?

These two are not the same, safety glasses provide optimal protection for your eyes on your job. Safety glasses are generally made from different materials or different thicknesses in order to withstand the impact of flying objects or hazardous materials.

Prescription lenses in normal glasses have a primary objective to correct vision and provide little to no protection from hazardous materials.

Spectacles

When assessing the need for eye protection, first identify the hazards (airborne dust, projectiles, splashes etc.), then their extent (frequency/velocity of projectiles, frequency/severity of splashes). All lenses are made from polycarbonate and approved to EN 166-1F.
